Sorry, I've been away

Time flies, when you're preparing for the Holidays. Then my GrandFather was not doing well in the hospital. He was able to go home on the 23rd, but he did pass away on Christmas Eve and memories of losing my Father 3 years ago came flooding back.

The last few days have been quite sad and reflective. So, everyone kiss your children, love your spouse, thank your parents and pray for forgiveness. Our time here is always too short.

I will return to creating and designing in a few days...

Where have I been?

Wow - how time flies when I'm creating.. Oh, wait - this is the holidays and there is just too much happening at once!! So, we finally finished the Christmas cards - those only took 2 days of photo moments. Ugh, but they are done and hopefully will arrive tomorrow. YEAH.

So - you're wondering what I've been up to? (Shhhh....it's a secret). Ok, no - not really. I have made a few headbands and dropped 35 of them off to a hair salon in Tomball, Texas. So, if you are in or near Tomball - visit The Cutting Co. and see what is there. Here's my latest favorite - Red with Zebra!! LOVE IT!!!!

New Bag

My new little bag... How cute is this?? This bag is just my "tester/sample", so I will create a few more before placing on the website for ordering. But, if you like the style, let me know.

This bag measures approximately 11 inches wide and 8 inches tall, with optional pocket(s), the handles are made so that one slides into the other, for closing the bag and carrying. Embroidery/Monogramming will also be offered for this bag. Fabric is 100% cotton, with cotton or fleece interfacing. It's just too cute!!

Wristlet Key Fobs **NEW**

We now have Wristlet Key Fobs listed. Yes, there is only one showing now, but many MANY more to come!! These are too neat and the Princess Wristlet is the one I created for myself. It's great, I just put my keys around my wrist and run a quick errand, plus they are super easy to find in my purse. I hope to have many more added soon, also - let me know if you would like to a custom design. I love to create new designs!! The Wristlets can be made smaller or larger.

Finally - more bows!!

I know... I know... the bows are finally starting to appear on the website. So, as football season winds down... and Christmas is fast approaching... I am switching my focus and will work on the Holiday Bows, plus a few more little tricks up my sleeve!!!

Etsy... A new adventure

Well, this evening I started my Etsy adventure. This new forum to sell handmade items. It's great!! But as with all things, this is a learning process.

At the moment.. I only have one item listed. My fabric stash is growing and it would take years to filter through everything. So, before styles change - perhaps there are others who can use the adorable patterns.

Woven Headbands

Finally!!! Woven Headband designs have been created and available for purchase via the website. I am so excited to bring you many of the custom woven headband designs. Each headband is hand woven with quality grosgrain ribbon.

My family and friends are huge sports fans and love to find cute sports themed things. With each design idea, I try to create at least one idea with sports colors. If you see a cute design, but do not see your school colors, or favorite sports team ~ let me know and a custom design can easily be created for you!!

What, Who, Why ~ April Michelle Designs???

Hello, I am April Michelle ~ the designer behind April Michelle Designs. Since my childhood, I've had a pure drive to create cute items... This began with oil painting, then sewing clothes, painting on clothes, and so much more. Then the age of computers developed and my artistic skills moved to the computer. In 2002, I opened an online photo invitation store. The primary focus of Invitation Haven was to take a customer's photo, edit the image, add working and ribbon - creating a beautiful custom designed memory card.

In 2007, we welcomed a daughter into our family. The birth of Madi, only fueled my desire to create cute and precious items for her. After many sleepless nights, the decision was made to close Invitation Haven and open April Michelle Designs, giving an outlet to create and sell unique items for every prince and princess.

April Michelle Designs will showcase and sell many handmade items. Clothing, Hair Bows, Headbands, anything Monogrammed, photo invitations.... Anything you can image, I can create. Words can not express how excited I am to showcase my designs!! Every little Prince and Princess should be dressed with items, made with love!! I love to create each design for you...
